KALKAN TRAVEL PLUS
Kalkan Travel Plus is designed to help make your
holiday in Kalkan as enjoyable as possible from leaving the Uk to returning
home.
Flights are available from all major Uk airports and are now more frequent than ever. The flight time is between 3hrs 30 minutes and 4hrs depending on your departure point. Service providers include Easy Jet, Jet 2, Thomas Cook, Thomson, Monarch, Turkish Airlines together with several others.
On arrival at Dalaman Airport you will need to purchase a 3 month Visa before going through passport control, the cost of the visa is £10.00 per person, it is recommended that you have a £10.00 note for each traveler, they don't accept £50.00 notes or Scottish notes.
Transfer time to Kalkan is 1hr 30 minutes, we can assist with transfers or car hire, if required.
The currency is Turkish Lira although the Euro, travelers cheques and credit cards together with Sterling in many cases are accepted. Kalkan has several banks with ATM machines and a post office that usually offers the best exchange rate. Jewelers also offer currency exchange.

Kalkan is located at the base of the Taurus Mountain range and as such the area has sloping roads both around the apartment and Kalkan Old town, making it unsuitable for people with mobility problems. We also advise that flat footwear is worn, Ladies would struggle with high heels.
Kalkan enjoys over 300 days per year of sunshine and throughout most of the year the sun is strong and appropriate sun protection should be worn to prevent burning. Bottled water is also essential and it is advised that the tap water is used for washing and cleaning teeth only.
On your return from Dalaman airport, note that Turkey is not a full EU member and that your allowances may be different than your usual destination. Dalaman Airport is also a very expensive airport for food and drink, travel food can be purchased in Kalkan, Merkez Cafe' Bar is just one option and very good.
